Introducing End Of Life Care discussions via @WeEOLC

Monday 21st September 2015 by @WeEOLC

Traditionally the WeCommunities have a single role as their community focal point, this works well on the main and often value is found when the communities come together to chat about topics together, this has delivered significant multidisciplinary value.

When a passionate team came to WeHQ with a desire to build a community based on supporting end of life care across multiple roles we didn't want to restrain ourselves to the existing WeCommunities concept. So we are pleased to introduce you to @WeEOLC a multidisciplinary community with a dedicated focus...

The @WeEOLC #WeEOLC is a community of knowledge and learning through curiosity, sharing, debate and discussion about end of life experiences, evidence, resources and practice across all settings and diagnosis groups. Whilst the role of nursing leadership is a thread running through @WeEOLC, everyone is warmly welcomed in order for us to learn and discuss together.

Monthly chats are held on the first Tuesday of every other month from 8-9pm (Oct, Dec, Feb, April, June, Aug). These include case study and discussion format as well as the dissemination of end of life care resources and evidence through #EBP and #WeEOLC. #WeEOLC is also used to curate and share end of life resources and evidence.

The first #WeEOLC chat is on October 6th with prechat details here. We are starting with a fictional case study that will eveolve through the chat for us to explore together as it unfolds " Case study: navigating uncertainty ".

The co-creators of @WeEOLC are Sarah Russell (@learnhospice), Laura Middleton Green (@heblau) and Bridget Johnston (@BridgetJohnst), with creation of the original format and idea from Sharon Hudson (@ShazzaHudson), Sue Spencer (@nursingbard) and Alison Leary(@alisonleary1). You can find out more about each of the @WeEOLC volunteers hereĀ

And finally ....... here is a PowToon video by Sarah to help you learn a little more about how and why @WeEOLC is here:

Its fantastic to have a community that spans all healthcare professions, will be great to see this develop and to see how all different fields can benefit together. I look forward to engaging with the community.
