#WeMDT - what's that all about?

Wednesday 24th February 2016 by @AgencyNurse

For seasoned WeTweeters you’ll be aware that the world of We is purposefully designed around your roles, you can find them all here, helping you connect and learn together with relevant peers to the care and practice you deliver, chatting via their dedicated We hashtag.

This has created vibrant and valued communities, all run by volunteers, across which many disciplines of nursing, midwifery, AHPs, pharmacy, Health Visitors and Doctors too, across which well over 100,000 follow and interact together, not only via scheduled tweetchats but daily alongside each other as well.

But…

Patients of course often need a multi-disciplinary team to support their needs, so staying in our comfy role based We's to chat about a clinical, operational or workforce matter won’t give us the rounded view needed to share and learn and improve our practice to support this type of patients’needs.

#WeMDT

Of course everybody is always welcome on any #We chat, it is always good to see nurses joining #WeDocs and pharmacists tweeting in to #WeDNs, this is encouraged and long may it continue.

#WeMDT (Multi-Disciplinary Team) discussions are tweetchats that have been co-coordinated across a couple, or more, of the role based WeCommunities  to facilitate this style of multi role sharing and learning.

You’ll see in any #WeMDT pre chat information if there is a specific multi-disciplinary focus and which of the We Communities have come together to give the chat its focus, remembering of course that everybody is welcome to contribute in#WeMDT chats, or any other We chat too.

If you have not joined a tweetchat before we have “top 10 tips” here for you and a “really simple guide” here too.

Hoping the above explains the difference between a "traditional" We role based tweetchat and a #WeMDT chat, here are a few final questions answered that we hope will help:

Should I join a #WeMDT chat – yes
Will I learn from a #WeMDT chat – yes
Will I add value to a #WeMDT chat – yes
When is the next #WeMDT chat – find them here
What #WeMDT chats have a I missed – find them here

We hope that helps and We look forward to seeing you on a#WeMDT chat soon…
