Many underestimate the severity of Measles, tetanus or polio illness partly because healthcare & @WHO have been so successful in reducing incidence through vaccination.
There are a number of reasons why they are important

Compulsory vaccination- I don’t know. We need to do something to combat the growing anti-vaxx movement but my concern is that compulsory vaccination could alienate parents from engaging with HCPs when they need to #wenurses |

I listened to the advice from our Health Visitor and read some literature and thought it was in my son's interest to have his MMR vaccination. @jomwlever @receivingconsnt @WeNurses #WeNurses we went though a similar thing with my son back in 98 when he was born. my wife, also a nurse, felt conflicted because of the press that Wakefiled's paper generated. he did have all his vaccinations though. |

@WeNurses People will attempt to reclaim their power where they can, by home educating & buying further into pseudoscience - increasingly rejecting other forms of healthcare. Many who don't vaccinate already believe there is a power imbalance, this will only reinforce their fears #WeNurses |

@abookclubof1 @WeNurses This is a good point, my child's school flu vaccination this year required the parent to print off the consent form and send it back. Anecdotally the rates dropped as parents told me they didn't know about it. #WeNurses |
