According to @TheKingsFund we can see some kind of volume of patient interaction with the NHS in 2018/19 , some of the headlines per year figures were:

307,000,000 visits to a GP
86,000,000 community visits
96,000,000 outpatient visits
24,800,000 A&E visits
20,700,000 Hospital stays


On top of this, according to ONS we have, in just England, 460,000 care home beds, so that's an additional 167,900,000 days of care; we couldn't find other types of social care delivery statistics. 

AND the numbers have been growing steadily for the last 10 years.

First off, well done to all of you for making this happen! 

There are lots of BIG numbers and it is easy to see them as just numbers on a screen, but of course, these are people, people that need us as healthcare professionals and people whom we all strive to deliver the best care, with the best outcomes and via the best experience; essentially, millions of people are being cared for, all the time, in settings and at home. 

That's millions of different ways to experience care by dozens of roles including clinical, medical, clerical, cleaners, cooks, porters, estate/building staff, laundry, IT, etc, and all of these staff need training, educating, HR and there are dozens more we've not mentioned. 

As part of #ExpOfCare week, we invite all our WeCommunities tweeting peers to join together to ask what might seem like simple questions but when we look at the scale of care we deliver we know the answers are hugely impactful.
