Social media and nursing Tweetchat 1: Exploring the positive impact that nurses & nursing are having on social media

Over the month of May WeNurses will be exploring social media and nursing.  We want start to understand the relationship that nurses and nursing has with social media and the impact that this is having so throughout May we will be holding tweetchats, sharing blogs, infographics and podcasts and running polls to really scrutinise where social media and nursing is.

We want to consider two main areas:

The impact that nurses & nursing are having on social media

And

The impact that social media is having on nurses & nursing

In each of these areas we want to explore  the positive impact but also explore the challenges we have faced and how we have overcome them.

This tweetchat will be exploring the positive impact that nurses & nursing are having on social media & aims to ask the following questions:

  1. How have you used Social Media to network with other nursing colleagues ? (Locally nationally and internationally)
  2. How has social media enhanced your career ? Has it presented any career opportunities?
  3. In your experience, how have we as nurses influenced practice through social media?
  4. What are the benefits to the nursing profession since social media has been introduced?
  5. What examples do you have of social media being a positive force in nursing?
  6. What ‘good news’ stories do you have to celebrate, in relation to nursing and social media?
